XMG Hip Hop is committed to accurate, fair, and independent hip hop journalism. This page explains how we report, what we publish, and how we fix mistakes.
Accuracy and sourcing
We verify facts before publishing. Where possible we rely on primary sources: official artist and label statements, verified social media accounts, court filings, chart data, and on the record interviews. When we report on claims made by other outlets, we credit and link to them. Rumors and unverified reports are labeled as such.
Independence
XMG Hip Hop is independently owned. No label, distributor, or artist has editorial control over what we publish. Coverage is never sold. Paid placements are marked as sponsored and are kept separate from editorial content.
Opinion versus news
News articles report what happened. Opinion pieces, reviews, and commentary reflect the view of the writer and are labeled so readers can tell the difference.
Corrections and updates
When we get something wrong we correct it promptly and transparently. Material corrections are noted at the top or bottom of the article with the date. Minor fixes such as typos are made without a note. Articles that receive significant new information are marked as updated with the time of the update.
Bylines and authorship
Every article carries the name of the writer who produced it. Our writers are real people with real experience in hip hop culture and journalism. Author bios are available on each author page.
Use of AI
Our stories are written and edited by humans. We may use software tools for research, transcription, and proofreading, but no article is published without human reporting, judgment, and review.
Comments and community
We welcome discussion. Comments that contain hate speech, harassment, threats, or spam will be removed.
