XMG Hip Hop takes accuracy seriously. When we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and we say so. This page explains how corrections work on our site and how you can request one.
How to report an error
If you believe something we published is inaccurate, send the article link and a description of the error through our Contact page. Include any sources that support the correction, such as an official statement, court filing, chart data, or a verified social media post. We review every request.
How we handle corrections
Once a request is received, an editor checks the original reporting against the sources provided and our own. If the error is confirmed, the article is corrected as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours of verification.
Material corrections, meaning errors of fact that change the meaning of a story, such as a wrong name, date, figure, quote, or attribution, are fixed in the text and noted at the top or bottom of the article with the date of the correction and a short description of what changed.
Minor fixes such as typos, spelling, formatting, or broken links are made without a correction note.
Updates versus corrections
A correction fixes something that was wrong when the article was published. An update adds new information to a story that was accurate at the time. When a story develops after publication, we add the new information and mark the article as updated with the time of the update. We do not quietly rewrite published stories.
Headlines, images, and social posts
If an error appears in a headline, photo caption, or social media post, we correct it in the same place and, where the platform allows, note the correction.
Removal requests
We do not unpublish accurate stories because a subject would prefer they did not exist. Articles are removed only in rare cases such as legal requirements or serious harm that cannot be addressed through a correction.
Our commitment
Every writer at XMG Hip Hop is responsible for the accuracy of their work, and every correction is reviewed by an editor. Our full approach to sourcing, independence, and authorship is outlined in our Editorial Policy.
